Corporate Social Responsibility

In its business activity, MTS is guided by the principle of social responsibility – the company pays special attention to the care of consumers and employees; it is at the forefront of humanitarian, cultural, sports and other socially significant projects.

The main field of the MTS social responsibility implementation is rendering of high-quality and advanced telecom services at acceptable s rates to the MTS subscribers. At the same time, MTS consciously develops the technologies of socially responsible investment.

As a participant in the UN Global Compact initiative, MTS conducts a number of socially oriented system programs in Belarus:

  • sports support
  • public health protection and healthy lifestyles promotion
  • arts and culture support
  • environmental initiatives support
  • support for children and youth creativity
  • support for most vulnerable social groups (orphans, disabled people).
Among the most prominent actions recently implemented or sponsored by MTS are Call the Brother-Soldier, Car Free Day, support for the Belarusian delegation at the 21st Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, assistance in holding the 27th European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships, the Red Dress charity event organized as part of the Heart Truth Red Dress international campaign, the Maximum at MTS musical project - a concert tour with the participation of Belarusian, Russian and Ukrainian pop stars. The company is the title sponsor of the White Square International Festival of Advertising and Marketing, the official sponsor of the Slaviansky Bazar in Vitebsk International Art Festival, the Yuri Bashmet International Festival in Minsk.

Traditionally, MTS pays special attention to the national sport. The company is the title sponsor of the Belarusian Gymnastics Association, the official sponsor of the Belarusian Football Federation, the National Olympic Committee; it contributes to the development of Belarusian hockey and handball.

MTS sponsored such sports events as the Baby Cup International Children's Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament, the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup stages, the Open Championship of Belarus and the Vitaly Scherbo International Gymnastics Tournament, the Mowgli Children's Gymnastics Tournament, the Mowgli Cup and many other competitions.

In 2005, 2007–2009, MTS was recognized in Belarus as the brand of the year in the Mobile Operator and Socially Responsible Brand categories in the Brand of the Year National Competition.

According to the results of 2010, MTS was pronounced the winner in the Active Social Attitude and Public-Private Partnership categories and in the SOCIAL RESPONSIBLE BRAND 2010 honorary nomination of the Brand of the Year National Competition.
